In May 2009, I wrote a post about my love of quotes, particularly those which illuminate aspects of creative thinking.
Like the proverbial picture versus a thousand words, quotations can beautifully capture an essence of creative thinking in just a few words.
So far I've collected about 800 quotes. My favourite ones were not written specifically about creativity.
For example,
Father James Keller was a Roman Catholic priest who was also an inspirational speaker who appeared in a television show called
The Christophers which was broadcast on ABC in the United States during the 1950s. His famous quote - "
A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle" - was about sharing God's word. But in the context of creativity, it's relevant in a fresh way: that sharing ideas can help nurture and improve an idea into something greater.
I've created mini-posters of these quotes called "AQUotationS", and will share them here on my blog in the future. I've also created separate blogs for people who read Tumblr and Pinterest, as well as for the subscribers on my Creative Streak page on Facebook.
