Biography

I've been working in public relations and communications for 26 years. The last 15 years have focused in three areas: creativity and brainstorming, communications training workshops, and facilitation of strategic planning meetings. I've accumulated 35,000 hours facilitating more than 6,000 workshops for 11,000 participants in 19 countries on 4 continents.

Ideas are more than something dreamed up in a brainstorm. Ideas can be a decision, a recommendation, a hypothesis, or a plan of action. An idea solves a business problem. An idea is action which creates beneficial change.

When I talk about creativity and ideas, I also talk about communications. Ideas don’t speak for themselves. Ideas require someone to articulate, discuss, debate, argue, cajole, defend, persuade, negotiate, motivate, inspire, sell, guide and teach them to others. Ideas require people to listen, analyze, strategize and be part of decision making. That’s why my blog covers everything from the beginning to the end: from strategy development to idea generation to packaging and merchandising to presentation skills to organizational development to implementation and measurement.

Because I’ve been fortunate to work in many countries with many different types of companies and organizations, it was a logical step to also conduct workshops about creativity and communications to help others put the principles and techniques in place to improve their individual and team performance.

I use world-class, recognized methodologies and processes, making them applicable to typical work environments. My curricula, accreditations and expertise include LEGO® Serious Play™, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Team Management Systems®, GENOS® Emotional Intelligence, Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem Solving Process®, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument®, Negotiation Skills (Australian Institute of Management), Communications Problem-Solving, Learning Styles Questionnaire (Honey and Mumford), and Communications Style Flexing.
